Living as your most SACRED SELF


I'm issueing a 2009 challenge: I want every one of us to live as our 'Sacred Selves.' It's the same challenge I issued to Oprah (um.... she hasn't phoned me yet, could someone jog her memory!)

It's the central theme of my book: The Joy-Filled Body / Mind over Fatter - learn to feel great without ever dieting again.

Nikki wrote this to me about my book: "I heard Prof Eddie Wolff talk about your book on 702 this morning.  The sun came up in my life again.  It did not take long for me to get into Fourways Mall and buy myself a copy – I have not put it down since...I know you talk about spiritual development in the book and I think that this may just be the beginning of something big in my life."

You might wonder what being your Sacred Self that has to do with arriving at your natural weight? Ok, how much time have you spent obsessing about scales and calories? Here's the problem.... we're starting at the wrong end of the equation: Without exception we are amazing incredible Sacred Beings and when we start remembering that and that no matter our size, weight or shape, that still remains true, then we start to heal at a level much deeper than just merely our body size. We think when we change our bodies we'll find happiness. The truth is that when we remember our Sacredness we can be happy in whatever body we're in AND THEN YOU'LL ARRIVE AT YOUR NATURAL WEIGHT without dieting. Here's how each of us living as our Sacred Selves makes a difference:

  • Treating your body as Sacred means you listen to it, rather than a diet sheet
  • You'll make healthy choices because you WANT to, not because you have to
  • You'll start quietening the harsh inner critic and turning up the volume on the loving and kind one
  • You'll start believing you believe others to treat you as if you're Sacred too
  • Instead of waiting until you think you look good enough you'll start treating yourself to clothes (and even underwear) you feel fabulous in right now.

But hey, maybe Oprah read my article and just hasn't got to me yet because as a member of our online group said: "I watched Oprah last night (with Dr Oz) and he asked a very thought provoking question: "Why do you deserve the best health possible in 2009". Her answer was that she is a sacred being and that she cannot fulfill her purpose in life without a healthy body.

UPDATE ON my CHILDREN'S BOOK

Do you know that before we erode it, children are still able to honour their Sacred Selves? Even if they look like Michelin man - they love mirrors, cameras and video's. They 'know' they are worthy! Not only that but they still automatically eat according to a Sacred Biological Order... until we erode it. This book is all about how we can respect that.
